Buttercup has all the qualities that we love in a great family dog.  She is easy going and easily trainable--even the youngest members of her family can train her!  She loves to snuggle and is intuitive about the emotions in the people around her. She has a lovely soft, wavy coat that doesn't shed at all.

Buttercup and Goose have babies! Both parents have beautiful, thick, soft, non-shedding coats.  Both are beloved members of their guardian families.  They are both great with kids and other pet and are a fantastic example of what we love in our goldendoodles.    These babies will have soft wavy or curly coats and will be apricot/blonde or apricot with white tuxedo markings.

We now officiallyhave families for all of the babies!  They are going to homes ranging from Reno to Ohio.  We are so happy for the families that will be taking these babies home. Little Asami has already joined her family in Jackson Wyoming and the others will be heading home over the next couple of weeks.

There is a lot of information on the website about how to transition home smoothly but here are a couple of tips:

Stick to a schedule--we generally have breakfast at about 7 and dinner at 6-7 pm.  They like to have some run around and play time and then snuggle after dinner.  We usually feed them outside so they can go potty right after eating but they have had breakfast inside for the past few days and they have all done great with taking themselves outside to go potty after eating.  In fact we haven't had any inside potty accidents in more than a week.  Yay babies!

Babies are learning bite inhibition ups until about 9 weeks.  We allow them to gently mouth our hands while we play with them up until that time.  If a puppy bites too hard we dramatically yelp and stop playing for a minute to help them learn that human skin must be treated more gently than their littermates. After 9 weeks we redirect all chewing to non-skin items.  If we feel their teeth on our skin we stop the play with "uh-uh" (our stop cue) and redirect to a toy.  (think stop, distract, redirect a million times a day for puppies)  If they are being pushy with wanting to mouth us then we will gently hold their mouth shut for a second.  If that doesn't get the point across then it's time to stop playing for a little while.  If you are at home then this would be a good crate time--sometimes puppies get pushy and mouthy when they are tired.  They might just need a nap!

Keep socializing.  Happy experiences meeting new people and other animals is the name of the game right now! We continue to introduce new people and pets every day while they are in this socialization period.  Here are some pictures from this last weekend.

Seven weeks old!  The babies are ready to start one on one training this week.  They are all using the doggy door to go out to go potty which means no more paper changes in their box.  Everyone had vet checks and first immunizations today and everyone is perfectly healthy.  Yay!

The babies doing awesome this week. They have started using the doggy door to go outside to go potty and they are loving the beautiful summer weather we are having here in Idaho.  They are all adjusting to the new toys, people and experiences that we introduce everyday.  Mama buttercup still nurses and interacts multiple times a day to help them learn doggy manners.  They will keep sleeping in crates and using the dog door over the next few weeks.

The babies are a month old!  Buttercup's babies are up walking and playing.  They have moved out of the nursery to the bigger puppy room where they have started early potty training.  They have a sleeping area in their box where they have a paper/potty area. They are all doing great about leaving their sleeping area to go to the paper when they need to go potty which is the first step for them to learn to use the dog door to go potty outside.  This week they will go outside everyday and they will get their Neopar  shots which is the first step to help them develop parvo immunity.  Buttercup still nurses a few times a day and they are all starting to eat solid food this week as well.

Buttercup and Goose have babies!  We have five girls and one little boy born on Friday, July 7!  They are all healthy and happy and growing right on schedule.  As always Buttercup is a devoted mama and she spends most of her time snuggling with her babies.  She has continued her charming habit of collecting socks to bring in to her box with the babies.  And believe me when I tell you our house has no shortage of socks for her to collect.

for this first two weeks we will handle each puppy daily to help their nervous systems develop extra neurological pathway connections that result from the slight 'stress' of being handled in unusual positions.  This is called Early Neurological Stimulation.  At our house our puppies are held and exposed to family and children of all ages right from the beginning so help familiarize them with the unique experience of growing and living in a family household. â€‹â€‹

The babies are eight weeks old! We had vet checks last week and they all did awesome!  Everyone is healthy and growing right on schedule!  This week the puppies have all been using the dog door to go potty all the time. YAY! We are working on individual crate time during the day but they still sleep in crates all together at night. They are ready to start working on individual house manners and training which is fun and exhausting at the same time.  We have three of these babies that still need to find their families--Purple girl, blue boy and our tiny green boy. Call Kim if you think you are a good match!

Our weather here has gone from freezing cold and miserable to wet and warm-ish.  The puppies don't mind!  They love to run and explore and play outside and they are all using the doggie door to go potty.  YAY!!!  We have lots of play time and people play dates to help build happy relationship foundations.

The puppies had their first set of puppy shots and vet checks here with our vet.  Everyone was perfectly healthy.  They all explored out of their crate and visited the vet and the assistants with confidence.

Speaking of crates--these puppies love to sleep together in their big crate and they occasionally split up and sleep alone in the smaller crate in their pen. They are just getting to the developmental age where they are ready to start crating individually.  We are also working with each puppy learning to sit politely and figure out what we want in order to get treats.  Learning to be attentive to the humans in their surroundings is the foundation for training and healthy relationships in the future.

The babies had a great Christmas!  As always we love to have puppies here to snuggle and play with over the holidays and this year was not a disappointment!  The babies are all running in and out of the dog door but they aren't completely going potty outside yet.  They are using their paper 100% of the time so that is great progress!  They are eating regular puppy food and everyone is growing right on schedule!

Four weeks old.

The babies have moved over to the toddler pen.  They have started potty training and they are doing great leaving their bed area to go potty on the paper in their pen.  They don't have access to the dog door yet--we've been in a super cold spell here with temperatures in the teens.  They will start going outside by six weeks even when it's snowy outside.  They have started eating soft food but are still nursing 3-4 times a day as well.  They don't have their little teeth yet but their teeth will start erupting in the next week.  They spend time every day playing and exploring out in the 'big' family room with us.  We introduce new toys every day and make sure that they each get plenty of snuggle time as well.  We will start to see more and more of their personalities develop over the next two weeks.

The babies are two weeks old.  They are all little butterballs!  Buttercup spends most of her time laying with them so they can snuggle and nurse.  They are just starting to open their eyes but it will still be a few days before they can see their surroundings.  Their main sense is still smell.  Their hearing will start to develop over the next few days as well.  This week they will start toddling around rather than just creeping.  They will start interacting with each other a little more but it will still be a couple of weeks before they really play with each other.  We will continue to hold and snuggle the babies every day so they become accustomed to being with their people.

Buttercup has her babies!  They came a little later than we expected but we expected them to be late...if that makes any sense!  We have learned that Buttercup doesn't ovulate at the typical  levels of our other girls so our normal calculation methods are always a little off for her. Mamas are pregnant for 63 days from ovulation.  Not from breeding date.  They are usually receptive to the male two days after they ovulate so that is generally how we calculate due dates if we don't have lab values for progesterone.  And we are usually right on!  But Buttercup is receptive to the male a couple  of days earlier than typical so her babies in her previous litters have arrived a couple of days after the calculated due date. That's a long way of saying we are so excited to have these babies arrive!

Buttercup is a great mom.  She's super attentive to her puppies and she loves to have us sit by her and snuggle while she nurses.  Her last litter had a little girl that was quite a bit smaller than her brothers and it looks like this litter has a couple of tiny ones as well.  We will watch to see how they grow!  We expect these babies to be anywhere from 20-40 pounds.  They will all have nice thick wavy coats.

There is an archived live of her delivery on Facebook if you want to watch!  We will keep TikTok and instagram updated as well!

Little Missy is doing great here with us.  It's always fun for us to have one puppy stay a little longer as we have the chance to really get to know them individually.  Missy is quick to learn and eager to please.  She wriggles with excitement any time she gets to be with the kids.  She's doing great with potty training and she does great sleeping on her own.  She is a little sweetie and will do great with any family.

The babies are well into the socialization stage of development and the are all doing great.  They have moved from the newborn nursery over to the toddler area.  They are weaning to more and more solid food and they are learning to use the dog door! Mama Buttercup still nurses and interacts with them throughout the day but she. doesn't sleep with them at night and she lets them interact with the other dogs in our house.  This week we will keep working on potty training and weaning to solid food.

Buttercup delivered four puppies on Monday April 4, 2022.  We have one girl and three boys!  They are all little chubby butterballs--Buttercup spends all of her time nursing and snuggling her babies.  They will be 20-40 pounds and will have the beautiful loose wavy coats that we love in our Goldendoodles.  This week we handle each puppy each day for our early Neurological Stimulation program.  The exercises we do help to stimulate neuro-pathway growth and will contribute to adaptable and flexible temperament as they grow. Buttercup has recovered from delivery well and she is eating and caring for her puppies as a great little mama.  This next week the babies will start opening their eyes and they will start crawling around the whelping box.  We will continue to do ENS each day and we will watch to make sure every baby is healthy and thriving.

This is Buttercup's first litter!  We think she is a great match with Maverick.  She is a sweet girl that loves to be around her people.  She is a lap dog at heart and she's really intuitive about the emotions of people around her.  She is a soft, non-shedding coat.

Maverik is one of our favorites and he passes his easy going temperament and thick good looking coat to his babies.   He has a fun personality and loves everyone he meets.

The babies are almost six weeks old!  They are growing and developing right on schedule.  They are all busy teething and chewing on each other and all the toys they can find!  They are sleeping in crates and all four are using a dog door to go potty outside 100% of the time.  We really love their little personalities.  They don't bark at all and they love to be held.  They are doing great with the other dogs here at the house and with the kids that love to snuggle them.  They are just finishing their 5 day de-worming treatment and they are almost ready to move from softened kibble to hard crunch.  They love to use the dog door and spend time playing outside in the grass every day. This next week we will begin individual training with the clicker--I'll post videos as we go!

We have really been enjoying the sweetest little babies from Buttercup! We've kind of kept them to ourselves over this last month as our family was busy with a brand new (first!) grand baby and a wedding.  Yay!  So many great things.  These moms and puppies have done so well accommodating the changing schedules and visits from new people.  These four little cuties are so easy!

They  are just starting to use the paper outside of their sleeping area to go potty.  They walking well and they all love to sleep in their big soft bed in the crate.  They are just starting the socialization period so we are introducing new objects and experiences every day to help establish comfort with new experiences. We have lots of kids and other dogs that help us to make sure that families kids are familiar to them.  They have just started spending a little time outside in our beautiful early Fall weather and we will have them play outside more and more as they get stronger and older.

Over this next week these babies will keep developing their walking skills and we will start to see little teeth erupt.  We will start weaning when Buttercup 'tells' us it's time.  She will start standing up to nurse and will spend less time in the box with them when it is time for them to start eating solid food.

Black collar is a boy and the other three are girls.  Our make-a-wish family is leaning towards the boy but we will make a final decision in a couple of weeks.
